QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Quality Improvement Abstract
Quality Improvement abstracts should clearly state the aim of the initiative and the specific measures taken to enhance quality. The abstract should highlight the methods and interventions used to improve the quality of care or service, address the key findings and conclusions.

Abstract Description/Overview:
Identify the problem and in a few sentences, provide a concise review of what is and is not known about the issue being addressed, and how your project fills a gap
Aim:
Highlight the purpose of the initiative e.g. the aim of the project was to…
Methods:
Identify the measures that were used to evaluate the QI intervention. Describe the interventions/changes implemented and provide a rationale regarding why these changes would be expected to address the problem identified above. Describe approaches used to assess the impact of the change/intervention
Results:
Provide a summary of the results ensuring they address the purpose/objective of the project
Conclusion:
Provide conclusions supported by data from the project. Describe the implications of the project findings to practice, research or policy. Include limitations and future directions
Abstract Submission Process
Please read through the following information regarding the abstract submission process.
- Abstracts must be submitted through the online portal on the conference website
- Submissions must be a maximum of 250 words (including headings and references)
- Abstracts must be submitted in English
- All abstracts must be original work
- The abstract must contain text only; no diagrams, illustrations, tables or graphics are to be included in submissions
- If applicable, authors and/or presenters must declare conflicts of interest when submitting
- Presenting Authors must supply a photo and a short biography (100 words)
- The Conference Committee reserves the right to accept and decline abstracts for inclusion in the program and allocate to a presentation type that may not have been initially specified by the author/presenter. The Conference Committee also reserves the right to alter presentation times
- The RSA will not be held responsible for submission errors caused by internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events
- It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly
- Where there are co-authors, only one abstract is to be submitted. The submitter is responsible for ensuring the co-authors agree with and are aware of the content before submitting the abstract
- An abstract which does not adhere to these requirements may not be considered or accepted
- Presenters/authors are responsible for arranging and paying their travel and accommodation
- Submitters/Presenters will receive notification of the outcome of their submission from the RSA from 8th March 2024
- Presenters must register for the conference by 29th March 2024, or the presentation may be removed from the program
