Dr Helen MacLaughlin is an Associate Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics at QUT and Advanced Clinician Researcher at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Metro North Hospital and Health Services, Queensland Health.  She has over 20 years' experience as a clinical dietitian, focusing on nutritional interventions for patients with kidney disease.  She was awarded her PhD from King's College London in 2013, followed by a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) post-doctoral clinical academic fellowship at King’s College Hospital and King’s College London.  Her research group studies the impact of nutritional interventions on patient-centred outcomes and translates nutrition research findings into practical resources for people living with chronic kidney disease.
