Kate is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Nephrology at Christchurch hospital. She has spent most of her nursing career - over twenty years, in the renal specialty, including dialysis, renal transplantation and renal inpatient and outpatient areas. 

Kate trained to become a dialysis nurse in London and completed a post graduate certificate in Management of Acute Illness in the Renal Patient (Kingston University). She developed her dialysis knowledge and skills prior to retuning to New Zealand to work in dialysis and the renal ward, before becoming the Clinical Nurse Specialist. Kate has also completed a post graduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Nurs).
