Kay is a nurse practitioner working in the renal service for Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley. She has worked in renal healthcare for more than 35 years in a variety of nursing roles in Australia and New Zealand. In her role as a nurse practitioner she sees adult patients with chronic kidney disease across the disease spectrum, and has a number of outreach clinics to allow better access to renal healthcare. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked for many years in haemodialysis, and also as a clinical nurse specialist in predialysis and vascular access.
