Maureen is Renal Supportive Care Clinical Nurse Consultant, Canberra Health Services. 

 

Her approach to care and communication has been refined with her studies in Contemplative End-of-Life Care.  Maureen blends skills and knowledge from her Masters in Community Development with those from her Masters of Palliative Care to build capacity in teams. 

 

An enduring personal and professional interest is facilitating conversations with staff, clients and carers about life transitions including death and dying. Maureen enjoys reviewing literature on how suffering, hope, transcendence, meaning making, compassion fatigue, moral distress and a sense of our own mortality play out in our everyday roles.
