Marques Shek Nam Ng

Professional Bio
Dr Marques Ng is an Assistant Professor at The Nethersole School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, and the Dean of Students at Chung Chi College, both at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He completed his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees at the School and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco in 2018/2019.
Dr Ng is a young researcher focusing on palliative care and mixed methods research. His PhD study examined symptom clusters and their impact on dialysis patients. His current research revolves around supportive care for patients with chronic illnesses, particularly kidney disease and cancer. His findings have been published in prestigious conferences and journals, such as Kidney International Reports, Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, and International Journal of Nursing Studies. Professor Ng’s recent research projects, supported by external competitive grants, aim to improve patients’ and caregivers’ lives by addressing biopsychosocial symptoms and health inequities.
Beyond research, Dr Ng actively contributes to the professional community. He serves as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Association of Renal Nurses and participates in committees of the International Society of Nephrology. Professor Ng is also involved in the teaching of various nursing courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, while supervising research students at the School.
